The BlackBerry Curve launch party was produced by Lampoon Group and the brief they were given was simple – showcase BlackBerry and this cool new consumer driven device on a level that hasn’t been seen before in Australia.
With an incredibly short lead time, Lampoon Group’s Josh White organised an amazing event at Simmer on the Bay. An 800 strong crowd of A-list celebrities rocked out with international guests Benji and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte.
Lampoon Group entrusted the technical production to Innovative who supplied the largest amount of equipment ever seen at Simmer on the Bay.
A huge lighting system inside and outside, audio systems throughout the site, video projections onto the sides of the building inside and out, gobo projections for branding, internet for live video streaming, DJ and band equipment, and power distribution was provided by Innovative.
The site included the upper and lower areas of Simmer on the Bay, the entire outside deck, the side breezeway, and the outdoor area of Ottoman Cuisine. The huge site was a challenge to theme with an enormous amount of palm trees, surf boards, and beach theming to be set-up in 1 day. The versatility of Simmer on the Bay was fully demonstrated with the venue turned around for a 2 day Ernst & Young Tax conference the next day!
