The Australian Dance Festival, now in it’s 3rd year, is really starting to get its groove on!
With dance workshops, performances and dance competitions, the Australian Dance Festival at Sydney Olympic Park is a celebration of Australia’s best in dance.
“As much as we want to inspire dancers with the best instructors and choreographers, the event is also about bringing the entire dance industry together, and providing opportunities for dancers to perform on an amazing stage”, says festival founder and director, Angela Lau.
Making this amazing stage look and sound fantastic is Jeremy Koch, technical director and lighting designer for the event. While a successful formula has been settled on for both the ADF and the Sydney Salsa Congress (now the Sydney Latin Festival), Jeremy wanted a fresh look for the 2011 ADF. Using sub-hung truss from the back truss of the main stage, a new level was added to the lighting rig. This allowed for an array of new looks and kept the stage area much cleaner. A selection of Martin fixtures lit the stage featuring MAC TW1s, MAC 700Ps, MAC 250 Entours, Stagebar 54Ls and MAC 301s. All this was visualised, preprogrammed and controlled using the GrandMA2 platform.
The Australian Dance Festival provides opportunities for dance schools, professional dance teams, and soloists to perform on a custom made dance stage at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre.
Will we see you on the stage in 2012???
