@ Cockatoo Island
The Collaborative’s Addicted to 80s was a homage to the golden era that was like none other.
Innovative jumped (and by jumped we mean David Lee Roth side splits jumped) at the chance to help convert the warehouse-like venue on Cockatoo Island into a seriously saturated colour palette of fluro neon. Our happy tubes and Martin Auras were the Rambo-like hero lights which lit the hectic and electric scene.
Hip hoppers, rappers, hula hoopers, fire breathers, graffiti artists, retro arcade games, so-hot-right now food trucks, gelato bars, DJ’s, VJ’s, boom boxes and show stopping female dancers were just the entrée to the hands-in-the-air performance by headline Australian electro act – The Potbelleez.
Our Turbosound Floodlight speaker system blasted out an energetic set by the Potbelleez which had the guests rocking on the dance floor.
A highlight of the night for us was the outdoor projection. Bright Bette Davis eyes and larger than life Atari characters danced on the 10m high wall thanks to the Barco W8 projector. The images provided a huge impact for the theme which was mixed live by the spandex-wearing VJ.
This was the most exciting corporate Christmas Party we have done and the success of the event is testament to the creativity and experience of The Collaborative to produce an outstanding event.
